Bästa presenten!


Bästa presenten måste ju vara två krylliga hasselbuskar (Corylus avellana 'Contorta') som vill flytta in och bli omhändertagna. Spenderade lördagseftermiddagen med att plantera dem i deras nya hem. Nu gäller det bara att hålla tummarna att de tar sig.


The best present has to be two curly hazels (Corylus avellana 'Contorta'), asking to be looked after and wanting to move in. I spent Saturday afternoon planting them at their new home. Fingers crossed they will survive!


Eftersom den krylliga hasseln är ympad på vanlig hassel så blir det endel spikraka grenar som växer ut från basen. De får man helt enkelt klippa bort. Sedan kan ju avklippet bli en liten vårlig krans. Varför inte? När buskarna tagit sig så tänker jag försöka ge mig på de kraftigare raka stubbarna också. Fast det blir ingen krans av dem..

Since the curly hazel is grafted on normal hazel you will get a few very straight branches growing at the base. They just have to be cut off. And then you can always use your off-cuts to make a spring wreath. Why not? When the bushes have taken I will try to remove the thicker straight stumps as well. But they will not be made into a wreath..
