Vävstickor är något nytt för min del, Jag fick en presentation av The West Surrey Guild Spinners Weavers and Dyers när jag besökte unravel (garnfestival!) i Farnham i helgen. Det såg roligt ut och eftersom de hade små kit till salu, så det var ju inte mycket att fundera över. Det visade sig att det är hemskt roligt att väva garn runt pinnar. Jag började med en rak väv och avancerade sedan till en rundel. Lyckan när det fungerade och blev runt kan endast liknas vid den känslan man får när man hittar fickor på en klänning!
Weaving sticks are something new for me. I got a presentation from The West Surrey Guild Spinners Weavers and Dyers when I visited unravel (a festival of yarn!) last week-end. It looked fun and since they had little kits for sale it was nothing to ponder over really! It turned out it is immensely fun to wrap yarn around sticks! I started with a straight weave and after that moved on to a circular. Discovering that it actually worked - it turning into a circle, gave me the same feeling of happiness you only get when finding pockets in a new dress!
Tydligen ska man kunna sy ihop dem till större projekt, men så långt har jag inte kommit ännu.
Apparently you can stitch the bits together to a bigger project, but I am not really there yet.
I am seriously impressed with those circles. I understood what she was saying - to go round one less stick each time - but I couldn't get my head around how it worked. It must have been so exciting to see a circle emerge! xx
