Altes Rom

Altes Rom is the name of the colour and Zauberball Cotton is the name of the yarn. The ball began with flamingo pink and then went orange and burgundy. A joy to knit in! The pattern of the shawl is my own, I looked up how to make eyelets (in this case yarn over twice and on the following row knit first YO and purl the second YO), I made he increases in the beginning of every other rows two times and then skipped the third, but that is when I instead made they eyelets - clearly to prevent it from being a relax-by-of-the-TV-knit. Why make it easy when you can make it difficult? Hm had to unpick quite a few stitches. But I am very happy with the final result. This is also my first step in learning lace knitting.

Sedan matchar sjalen både ros och mat. Det är säkert bra!

Also the shawl matches both rose and food. I am sure that is good!

  1. Beautiful - it looks so good!! It looks like it has a lovely drape to it too. And pretty colours!

Eek, unpicking knitting is so tricky - it's so much easier in crochet. Knitting really feels like a very entangled web - I always feel like I can't go wrong as I'll have no clue how to fix it, whereas you can pull back to anywhere quite easily with crochet. I guess the more you knit, the easier it should become. Did you know that when you undo knitting - like reverse knitting to get back to where you were - it's called tinking? Tink is knit backwards! I like that.

Oh, love the colours of that food in the last shot - what is that?! xx

    1. I totally agree with all you say! Have never heard tinking before, it will be a very useful and well used new word in my vocabulary! The food is chard. Pretty, but I cannot decide if I like it or not... acquired taste?xxx

  2. Your shawl is beautiful, Anna, both in the gorgeous colours and the fabulous pattern. Indeed why make it easy when you can make it difficult. =) A most beautiful and clever finish. Love the gradation of colours.
